The University of Utah is working with local and national partners to implement AI-supported wildfire monitoring systems with the Utah Wildfire Camera Network project. The project involves deploying and supporting AI-enabled cameras to improve early detection of, and response to, wildfires.

The National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot is an initiative to provide researchers and educators with access to AI resources. Researchers can apply for access to computational resources for research or teaching and make use of software, data, and models available through the program and its partners.

On April 8 and 9, the CHPC is hosting the Machine Learning and Big Data workshop from the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) as a satellite site. This in-person event requires registration.

The CHPC is setting up AI assistant clients that interface with either cloud or local AI models. Several modules are available to users and can work with commercial or local models.

An upcoming release of the CHPC Portal will include features related to user and group management.

The CHPC will adjust scheduling policies for nodes owned by the One-U Responsible AI Initiative in the Protected Environment to improve responsiveness in response to user feedback.

Alert icon Network infrastructure upgrades overnight on April 16–17 will affect some CHPC resources

The Utah Education and Telehealth Network will perform upgrades on its network infrastructure from 11:00 p.m. (MDT) on April 16 to 3:00 a.m. on April 17. Most CHPC systems and services will be unaffected by this work, but some may experience network interruptions.

Storage in the General Environment is currently backordered due to market conditions. CHPC staff expect new storage capacity to be available around June.

Calendar icon Awarded allocation for the spring quarter is now available

Allocation provides priority access to resources on some CHPC clusters. For details and instructions on applying for allocation, please see the documentation on allocations.
